interlude

A brief interlude from posting about my Kent capers to bring you this little beauty.  Yes!  My name was pulled out of the hat as one of the lucky (and utterly spoiled) recipients of Lesley's recent giveaway.  My gift?  One of her beautiful hand-made books ...

I didn't want to waste any time in popping a post on immediately!

This exquisitely made little red book arrived today, all prettily packaged up in a delicate paper, together with a hand-made card.  Lesley has cleverly picked up the colours of the book and added a satisfying splash of blue.  A work of art in itself.

I love the finely crafted binding to the book ...

Thank you Lesley, I shall treasure both the card and the book, and have decided on a use for the latter already:D

If any of you have yet to discover Lesley's inspiring blog, Printed Material, then you can visit her here.

  2. What a lovely present, so carefully made, a piece of art really!
I once got a handmade book from my dear friend too. It was very difficult to decide, what would be precious enough to be written in the book. Then I began to write down the small poems that I wrote in friends' birthday cards. Sometimes I read them from my handmade book, and they remind me of the lovely moments we have spent together with our friends.
Thank you for your beautiful posts. Have a sunny weekend, and May Day too!

  3. Hello Jeanne:
Oh, lucky, lucky you. The book looks to be absolutely delightful. So beautifully made with such a keen sense of detail. The binding is remarkable. We are sure that you will put the book to a very special use and the book and its contents will then be marvellous keepsakes.

    Happy weekend!
